Over twenty years have passed since the events of 9/11. Yet, when we talk about or see images of that tragic day, a range of emotions quickly surfaces—disbelief, anger, fear, sadness...The proposed design for the Indio 9/11 Memorial aims to inspire a sense of collective humanity and community by creating a physical space that invites remembrance and contemplation, and which can act as a catalyst for further conversation and learning. The project is scheduled to be completed in 2024.
