GUARDS OF CAMP PARKS
Location: Camp Parks, Dublin, CA Client: City of Dublin Fabricator: Precision Metal Crafts & Direct Embed Coating Systems Camp Parks was built as a Navy Base during World War II and was home to the Navy Seabees. The site is currently used as an Army base, the Parks Reserve Forces Training Area (PRFTA). The distinctive entrance guard shack and sign was built in the 1940s and was designed by noted architect Bruce Goff. As part of the preservation project of the structure, the art project includes two hexagon-shaped columns that pay tribute to the countless service members that have come through here—whether it’s been the Navy, the Army, or the Air Force. |
